Sukta 1.77
स हि क्रतुः स मर्यः स साधुर्मित्रो न भूदद्भुतस्य रथीः । तं मेधेषु प्रथमं देवयन्तीर्विश उप ब्रुवते दस्ममारीः ॥
sá hí kratúḥ sá már yaḥ sá sādhúr mitró ná bhūd ádbhutasya rathī́ḥ | táṃ médheṣu prathamáṃ devayántīr víśa úpa bruvate dasmám ārī́ḥ ||
स हि क्रतुः—विवेकशक्तिरिच्छाशक्तिश्च; स मर्यः—उदारवीरबलम्; स साधुः—ऋजुः सुहृदिव मित्रः। अद्भुतस्याध्वनः स रथी भवति। तं मेधासु प्रथमं देवयन्तीर्विशः सर्वतो दस्मं प्रति ब्रुवन्त उपाह्वयन्ति।
