Soma Pavamāna (with Aditi as supporting cosmic principle)
ଏହି ସଂକ୍ଷିପ୍ତ ପବମାନ ସୋମ ସୂକ୍ତରେ ପବିତ୍ର ପାନୀୟ ସୋମଙ୍କୁ ସ୍ତୁତି କରାଯାଇଛି—ଯେତେବେଳେ ସେ ପରିଶୋଧିତ ହୋଇ ଋଷି-ଦୃଷ୍ଟିର ପ୍ରେରଣାରେ ଗତିଶୀଳ ହୁଅନ୍ତି। ସୋମଙ୍କୁ ‘ଅଦିତିଙ୍କ କୋଳରେ’—ଅସୀମ ଋତ-ବ୍ୟବସ୍ଥାର ଆଶ୍ରୟରେ—ଶୁଦ୍ଧ ହେଉଥିବା ବୋଲି ବର୍ଣ୍ଣନା କରାଯାଇଛି। ବିବସ୍ୱତଙ୍କ ସୌର ରଶ୍ମିରେ ଆବୃତ ହୋଇ ସୋମ ଆଗକୁ ଚାଳିତ ହୁଅନ୍ତି, ଏବଂ ପବିତ୍ର ବାକ୍ (ବାଣୀ)ର ଅଚ୍ୟୁତ ପ୍ରଭୁ ଭାବେ ପ୍ରଶଂସିତ। ଶେଷରେ ସେ ଇନ୍ଦ୍ରଙ୍କ ପାଇଁ ନିର୍ଦ୍ଦିଷ୍ଟ ଉଲ୍ଲାସ-ଶକ୍ତିରେ ପ୍ରେରିତ ହୁଅନ୍ତି। ଏହି ସୂକ୍ତର ଉଦ୍ଦେଶ୍ୟ ଏକାଧାରେ ଯାଗ୍ନିକ—ସୋମ ଚାପା ଓ ଛାଣିବାକୁ ପବିତ୍ର କରିବା—ଏବଂ ଧ୍ୟାନମୟ, ଯେଉଁଠାରେ ପରିଶୋଧନକୁ ସତ୍ୟ, ବାକ୍ ଓ ବିଶ୍ୱ-ସମଗ୍ରତା ସହ ଯୋଡ଼ାଯାଇଛି।

Mantra 1
तममृक्षन्त वाजिनमुपस्थे अदितेरधि । विप्रासो अण्व्या धिया ॥
ତାଙ୍କୁ—ବଳର ସମୃଦ୍ଧି ଆଣୁଥିବା ବାଜିନକୁ—ବିପ୍ରମାନେ ଅଦିତିଙ୍କ ଅଙ୍କରେ, ସୂକ୍ଷ୍ମ ବିବେକମୟ ଧିୟା ଦ୍ୱାରା, ଶୁଦ୍ଧ କରିଛନ୍ତି।

तं गावो अभ्यनूषत सहस्रधारमक्षितम् । इन्दुं धर्तारमा दिवः ॥
ତାଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତି ଦୀପ୍ତିମାନ ଗାଈମାନେ ସମ୍ମତିରେ ଡାକିଲେ—ସହସ୍ର ଧାରାବାନ, ଅକ୍ଷୟ—ଇନ୍ଦୁକୁ, ଚେତନାର ଦିବ୍ୟ ଦ୍ୟୁଲୋକରୁ ଆସୁଥିବା ଧାରକକୁ।

तमह्यन्भुरिजोर्धिया संवसानं विवस्वतः । पतिं वाचो अदाभ्यम् ॥
ତାଙ୍କୁ ସେମାନେ ପ୍ରଚୁର ଦର୍ଶନମୟ ଧିୟା ଦ୍ୱାରା ଆଗକୁ ପ୍ରେରିଲେ—ବିବସ୍ୱତଙ୍କ ଦୀପ୍ତିରେ ଆବୃତ—ବାଚର ଅଦାଭ୍ୟ, ଅଚ୍ୟୁତ ପତିକୁ।

तं सानावधि जामयो हरिं हिन्वन्त्यद्रिभिः । हर्यतं भूरिचक्षसम् ॥
ତାହାକୁ—ଶିଖର ଉପରେ—ଜାମୟଃ (ଭଉଣୀମାନେ) ଅଦ୍ରିଭିଃ (ପିଷଣ-ପଥର) ଦ୍ୱାରା ହରି (ତାମ୍ରବର୍ଣ୍ଣ)କୁ ଉତ୍ସାହିତ କରି ଆଗେଇ ନେଇଯାନ୍ତି; ଇଚ୍ଛନୀୟ, ବହୁଦୃଷ୍ଟିସମ୍ପନ୍ନ, ବିଶାଳ ଦର୍ଶନବାନ।

तं त्वा हिन्वन्ति वेधसः पवमान गिरावृधम् । इन्दविन्द्राय मत्सरम् ॥
ହେ ପବମାନ! ବେଧସଃ (ଜ୍ଞାନୀ କର୍ମକାର) ତୁମକୁ ଗିରାବୃଧମ୍ (ସ୍ତୁତିଦ୍ୱାରା ବୃଦ୍ଧିପ୍ରାପ୍ତ) ବୋଲି ଉତ୍ସାହିତ କରି ଆଗେଇ ନେଇଯାନ୍ତି; ହେ ଇନ୍ଦୁ! ଇନ୍ଦ୍ର ପାଇଁ ଥିବା ମତ୍ସର (ଉଲ୍ଲାସ/ମଦ)ରେ ତୁମକୁ ପ୍ରବେଶ କରାନ୍ତି।
