ଏହି ସଂକ୍ଷିପ୍ତ ଗାୟତ୍ରୀ ସୂକ୍ତରେ ସର୍ବଜ୍ଞ ଅଗ୍ନି ଜାତବେଦସଙ୍କୁ ଆହ୍ୱାନ କରାଯାଏ—ପ୍ରେରିତ ବାଣୀ ଓ ‘ଦ୍ୟୁମ୍ନ’ (ଦୀପ୍ତିମୟ ଶକ୍ତି) ଦ୍ୱାରା ତାଙ୍କୁ ପ୍ରବଳ ଭାବେ ପ୍ରଜ୍ୱଳିତ କରି ଆଗେଇ ନେବାକୁ। ଗୋତମ ବଂଶର ଋଷିମାନେ (ଏବଂ ନାମୋଲ୍ଲେଖିତ ରାହୂଗଣମାନେ) ତାଙ୍କୁ ବିଶାଳଦର୍ଶୀ ଏବଂ ‘ବାଜ’—ଜୀବନଶକ୍ତି ଓ ପ୍ରଚୁରତା—ଜିତିବାରେ ସର୍ବାଧିକ ବିଜୟୀ ଭାବେ ସ୍ତୁତି କରନ୍ତି, ଯେପରି ତାଙ୍କର ଆଲୋକ ଓ ଶକ୍ତି ଉପାସକମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରେ କାର୍ଯ୍ୟ କରୁ।

अभि त्वा गोतमा गिरा जातवेदो विचर्षणे । द्युम्नैरभि प्र णोनुमः ॥
ହେ ଜାତବେଦସ, ବିଶାଳଦର୍ଶୀ ଶକ୍ତି! ଗୌତମମାନେ ବାଣୀଦ୍ୱାରା ତୁମ ପ୍ରତି ଅଭିମୁଖ ହୁଅନ୍ତି; ଦ୍ୟୁମ୍ନମୟ ଶକ୍ତିମାନଙ୍କ ସହ ଆମେ ତୁମକୁ ଆମ ଭିତରେ ଆଗକୁ ପ୍ରେରଣା କରୁଛୁ।

तमु त्वा गोतमो गिरा रायस्कामो दुवस्यति । द्युम्नैरभि प्र णोनुमः ॥
ହେ ଅଗ୍ନି, ଗୌତମ ରାୟି—ଅସ୍ତିତ୍ୱର ପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣତା—କାମନା କରି, ପ୍ରେରିତ ବାଣୀଦ୍ୱାରା ତୁମକୁ ସେବନ କରନ୍ତି; ଦ୍ୟୁମ୍ନମୟ ଶକ୍ତିମାନଙ୍କ ସହ ଆମେ ତୁମକୁ ଆମ ଭିତରେ ଆଗକୁ ପ୍ରେରଣା କରୁଛୁ।

तमु त्वा वाजसातममङ्गिरस्वद्धवामहे । द्युम्नैरभि प्र णोनुमः ॥
ହେ ଅଙ୍ଗିରସ-ସଦୃଶ ଅଗ୍ନି, ବାଜସାତମ—ବାଜ (ବଳ-ସମୃଦ୍ଧି) ଜୟରେ ସର୍ବଶ୍ରେଷ୍ଠ—ତୁମକୁ ହିଁ ଆମେ ଆହ୍ୱାନ କରୁଛୁ; ଦ୍ୟୁମ୍ନ (ପ୍ରକାଶମୟ ଶକ୍ତି) ଦ୍ୱାରା ଆମେ ତୁମକୁ ଆମ ଭିତରେ ଆଗକୁ ପ୍ରେରଣା କରୁଛୁ।

तमु त्वा वृत्रहन्तमं यो दस्यूँरवधूनुषे । द्युम्नैरभि प्र णोनुमः ॥
ହେ ବୃତ୍ରହନ୍ତମ—ବୃତ୍ରଙ୍କ ସର୍ବୋତ୍କୃଷ୍ଟ ସଂହାରକ—ଯେ ଦସ୍ୟୁମାନଙ୍କୁ (ଅବରୋଧକ ଶକ୍ତିମାନଙ୍କୁ) ଝାଡ଼ି ଦୂର କରେ, ତୁମକୁ ହିଁ ଆମେ ଆହ୍ୱାନ କରୁଛୁ; ଦ୍ୟୁମ୍ନ (ପ୍ରକାଶମୟ ଶକ୍ତି) ଦ୍ୱାରା ଆମେ ତୁମକୁ ଆମ ଭିତରେ ଆଗକୁ ପ୍ରେରଣା କରୁଛୁ।

ଆମେ ରହୂଗଣମାନେ ଅଗ୍ନିଙ୍କୁ ମଧୁମଦ ବଚନ—ମଧୁର ଓ ସତ୍ୟଭରା ବାଣୀ—ଉଚ୍ଚାରଣ କରିଛୁ; ଦ୍ୟୁମ୍ନ (ପ୍ରକାଶମୟ ଶକ୍ତି) ଦ୍ୱାରା ଆମେ ତାଙ୍କୁ ଆମ ଭିତରେ ଆଗକୁ ପ୍ରେରଣା କରୁଛୁ।
