Reconciliation of Action and Knowledge: Offering All Acts to Nārāyaṇa and the Hymn to the Yajña-Puruṣa
Vasu (the king)
It exemplifies a common Purāṇic narrative motif: a ruler observes protocols of respect toward ascetics/sages before initiating inquiry, reflecting ideals of courtly conduct and dharmic etiquette in Sanskrit literary culture.
No specific geographic location is named in this verse; it is a situational question (“where are you going?”) within a royal encounter scene.
The verse foregrounds courteous conduct—offering honor first (pūjayitvā agre) and then asking questions—presenting respectful dialogue as a philosophical and social norm.
