Varāha (default, speaker not explicit in excerpt)
It reflects a Purāṇic pattern of systematizing vrata (vow) observances by linking ethical self-restraint and ritual timing (tithi) to authoritative figures such as Brahmā, indicating the integration of calendrical practice into broader Dharma discourse.
No geographic location is named in this verse; the focus is calendrical (Ekādaśī tithi) and behavioral (dietary restraint).
To maintain disciplined purity on Ekādaśī, expressed through regulated conduct and a specific dietary restraint: consuming food not cooked by fire.
