FAQs

It combines a localized ritual motif (Matsyaśilā) with transcendent cosmological ascent, demonstrating how Purāṇic texts connect place-based practice to universalized liberation narratives.

Meru is a mythic cosmographic reference; ‘Gama-loka’ is a named otherworldly realm within the text’s loka taxonomy rather than a terrestrial location.

The verse frames liberation as the culmination of disciplined engagement with a designated sacred ecology and its prescribed rites, emphasizing practice, restraint, and reverent interaction with heritage landscapes.
