पुनर्जन्मनिवृत्त्यर्थं मोक्षस्याहर्निशं स्मरेत् । सूचनात् सूत्रमित्युक्तं सूत्रं नाम परं पदम् ॥७॥

IAST Transliteration

punarjanmanivṛttyarthaṃ mokṣasyāharniśaṃ smaret | sūcanāt sūtram ity uktaṃ sūtraṃ nāma paraṃ padam ||7||

Translation

പുനർജന്മനിവൃത്തിക്കായി മോക്ഷത്തെ പകലും രാത്രിയും സ്മരിക്കണം. സൂചിപ്പിക്കുന്നതിനാൽ അതിനെ ‘സൂത്രം’ എന്നു പറയുന്നു; ‘സൂത്രം’ തന്നെയാണ് പരമപദം.

Academic Translation

For the sake of cessation of rebirth, one should remember liberation day and night. Because it indicates (or points out), it is called “sūtra”; and “sūtra” is indeed the supreme state.
