जागरितस्थानो बहिष्प्रज्ञः सप्ताङ्ग एकोनविंशतिमुखः स्थूलभुग्वैश्वानरः प्रथमः पादः ॥३॥
जागरित-स्थानः । बहिः-प्रज्ञः । सप्त-अङ्गः । एकोनविंशति-मुखः । स्थूल-भुक् । वैश्वानरः । प्रथमः । पादः ॥
jāgaritasthāno bahiṣprajñaḥ saptāṅga ekonaviṃśatimukhaḥ sthūlabhug vaiśvānaraḥ prathamaḥ pādaḥ ||3||
ആദ്യ പാദം വൈശ്വാനരൻ: ജാഗ്രതാവസ്ഥയാണ് ഇതിന്റെ സ്ഥാനം; ഇത് ബഹിഷ്പ്രജ്ഞൻ—ബാഹ്യവിഷയങ്ങളെ അറിയുന്നവൻ; ഏഴ് അംഗങ്ങളും പത്തൊൻപത് മുഖങ്ങളും ഉള്ളവൻ; സ്ഥൂലവിഷയങ്ങളെ അനുഭവിക്കുന്നവൻ॥३॥
The first quarter is Vaiśvānara: whose sphere is the waking state, who is conscious of external objects, who has seven limbs and nineteen mouths, and who enjoys (experiences) gross objects.
