यथा निरिन्धनो वह्निः स्वयोनावुपशाम्यति । तथा वृत्तिक्षयाच्चित्तं स्वयोनावुपशाम्यति ॥७॥

yathā nirindhano vahniḥ svayonāv upaśāmyati | tathā vṛttikṣayāc cittaṃ svayonāv upaśāmyati ||7||

Translation

ഇന്ധനമില്ലാത്ത അഗ്നി തന്റെ തന്നെ യോനിയിൽ ശമിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ, വൃത്തികളുടെ ക്ഷയത്താൽ ചിത്തവും തന്റെ തന്നെ യോനിയിൽ ഉപശമം പ്രാപിക്കുന്നു.

Academic Translation

As a fire without fuel becomes extinguished in its own source, so, by the destruction of mental modifications, the mind becomes quiescent in its own source.
