Sukta 8.96
स वृत्रहेन्द्रश्चर्षणीधृत्तं सुष्टुत्या हव्यं हुवेम । स प्राविता मघवा नोऽधिवक्ता स वाजस्य श्रवस्यस्य दाता ॥
sá vṛtrahéndraś carṣaṇīdhṛ́t taṃ suṣṭutyā́ hávyaṃ huvema | sá prāvitā́ maghávā no ’dhivaktā́ sá vā́jasya śravásyasya dātā́ ||
ആ വൃത്രഹ ഇന്ദ്രൻ—ജനങ്ങളുടെ ധാരകൻ—അവനെ നാം സുഷ്ടുതിയായ ഹവ്യത്തോടെ ആഹ്വാനം ചെയ്യുന്നു. അവൻ തന്നെയാണ് നമ്മുടെ പ്രാവിതാ, മഘവാൻ, നമ്മുടെ അധിവക്താ (പക്ഷവാദി/വക്താവ്); അവൻ തന്നെയാണ് വാജത്തിന്റെ സമൃദ്ധിയും ശ്രവസ്യ (തേജസ്സുള്ള യശസ്)വും ദാതാവ്.
