यस्ते मदो वरेण्यो य इन्द्र वृत्रहन्तमः । य आददिः स्वर्नृभिर्यः पृतनासु दुष्टरः ॥
Transliteration
yás te mádo váreṇyo yá índra vṛtrahán-tamaḥ | yá ādadíḥ svàr nṛ́bhir yáḥ pṛ́tanāsu dúṣṭaraḥ ||
Translation
ഹേ ഇന്ദ്ര, നിന്റെ മദ (ദിവ്യാനന്ദം) അത്യന്തം വരണീയമാണ്; വൃത്രഹനതയിൽ അത്യുത്തമം. നീ നൃഭിഃ (മാനവീയ ശക്തികളോടെ) സ്വഃ (സ്വർഗ്ഗ-പ്രകാശം) കൈവശമാക്കിയവൻ; യുദ്ധങ്ങളിൽ ദുഷ്ടര (അത്യന്തം ദുർലഘ്യൻ/അജേയൻ) ആയ നീ—ആ വിജയബലം ഞങ്ങളിലാകെ സജീവമാക്കുക.
