When Indra’s eager bay steeds grow/increase day by day, then all worlds are held and ordered by him.
As the dynamic forces that carry the illumined consciousness (the ‘two bay steeds’) are progressively strengthened through repeated practice (‘day by day’), the entire inner system—levels of being, impulses, thoughts, emotions—comes under a harmonizing governance. Indra’s mastery is not a one-time victory but a cumulative growth of right energy and right control.
Spiritual mastery is stabilized through consistent strengthening of the supporting energies; as these mature, life becomes ordered around a higher intelligence.
Cosmic order, Sustained increase, Indra’s energies (harī)
Indra hymn tradition emphasizing progressive strengthening and cosmic ordering; likely Kāṇva environment but not certain.
Highlights the yogic necessity of steady growth (abhyāsa) so illumination can govern the whole nature.
Upholder and harmonizer of the worlds once force is awakened; ruler of dynamic order.
Capacity to integrate and govern the whole being by luminous strength.
Indra-stuti; reinforcement of Indra’s sustaining rulership

32
4 pādas × ~8 syllables (approx.)
Repetitive, steady—mirrors ‘day by day’ increase; closing line feels like a stabilizing seal.
Builds steadiness and composure; supports habitual alignment with inner governance.
Affirmation hymn: as Indra’s dynamic energies (harī) increase through offerings, cosmic order (yam) is established.
In sequences affirming Indra’s power to maintain cosmic order after victories
Praise accompanying offerings; affirmation of stability and protection
Daily recitation as a ‘habit mantra’ for consistency—supports discipline, routine, and integration after insight experiences.
vāvṛdhāte from √vṛdh ‘grow’. dive-dive: distributive repetition. yemire from √yam ‘to hold, restrain, yoke, control’—important for r̥ta: ordering/holding the worlds in right measure. bhuvana from √bhū ‘to be, become’ → ‘planes of becoming’.
R̥ta as ‘holding/ordering’ (√yam) of the bhuvanas, growth of divine energies through sustained practice
As Indra’s forces grow, ṛta becomes embodied as stable governance across planes.
Truth is not only seen but organized into life—satya becomes effective order.
Sustaining creation: not only release/expansion but maintenance and integration of worlds.
Integral yoga psychology: transformation is progressive and systemic, not episodic.
day (diurnal cycle implied by dive-dive)
Horses = energized faculties; day-by-day = iterative neuro-psychic rewiring; worlds = layers of the psyche.
Strengthen the ‘carrying powers’: cultivate steady prāṇa and clear attention so higher insight can govern daily life.
Svadhisthana (life-force regulation)
Moderate ujjāyī 6–8 breaths, then chant steadily; feel prāṇa ‘increase’ without agitation.
Sattvic stabilization; integrated functioning across layers.
After meditation, chant this to ‘seal’ the state into the day. Track one small daily increase (attention, calm, truthfulness) as the ‘horse’ growing.
Svara notation not provided; keep even cadence; let ‘dive-dive’ be clearly doubled without rushing.
Slight emphasis on ‘vāvṛdhāte’ (growth) and ‘viśvā bhuvanāni yemire’ (ordering).
vāvṛdhāte: long ā; clear ṛ; avoid ‘vavardhate’ style substitution, dive-dive: pronounce as di-ve di-ve (not ‘div-eh’), yemire: light y- onset; keep short i in -re
Steady, resonant, stabilizing (less forceful, more integrating).
