Sukta 8.1
प्रास्मै गायत्रमर्चत वावातुर्यः पुरंदरः । याभिः काण्वस्योप बर्हिरासदं यासद्वज्री भिनत्पुरः ॥
prā́smai gāyatram arcata vāvāturyáḥ puraṃdaráḥ | yā́bhiḥ kāṇvasyópa barhír āsádam yā́sad vajrī́ bhínat púraḥ ||
അവനു ഗായത്രീ-സ്തുതിയെ അർപ്പിക്കുവിൻ—വേഗത്തിൽ പാഞ്ഞെത്തുന്ന, പുരങ്ങൾ (ആവരണങ്ങൾ) ഭേദിക്കുന്ന പുരന്ദരൻ; അവന്റെ ശക്തികളാൽ അവൻ കാൺവന്റെ പവിത്ര ബർഹിസിലെ ആസനത്തോടു സമീപിക്കുന്നു; വജ്രധാരി എത്തി അടഞ്ഞ കോട്ടകളെ പിളർത്തുന്നു.
