पतंगो वाचं मनसा बिभर्ति तां गन्धर्वोऽवदद्गर्भे अन्तः । तां द्योतमानां स्वर्यं मनीषामृतस्य पदे कवयो नि पान्ति ॥
pataṅgó vā́caṃ mánasā bibharti tā́ṃ gandharvó ’vadad gárbhe antáḥ | tā́ṃ dyótamānāṃ svaryàṃ manīṣā́m ṛtásya padé kaváyo ní pānti ||
പതംഗൻ (ചിറകുള്ളവൻ) മനസ്സിൽ വാക്കിനെ ധരിക്കുന്നു; ഗന്ധർവ്വൻ അതിനെ ഗർഭത്തിനുള്ളിൽ ഉച്ചരിച്ചു. ആ ദീപ്തമായ, സൂര്യപ്രഭയായ പ്രചോദനത്തെ—ഋതത്തിന്റെ പദത്തിൽ കവികൾ കാത്തുസൂക്ഷിച്ച് പാനം ചെയ്യുന്നു.
