Sukta 1.88
तेऽरुणेभिर्वरमा पिशङ्गैः शुभे कं यान्ति रथतूर्भिरश्वैः । रुक्मो न चित्रः स्वधितीवान्पव्या रथस्य जङ्घनन्त भूम ॥
té ’ruṇébhir váramā́ piśáṅgaiḥ śubhé káṃ yānti rathatū́rbhir áśvaiḥ | rukmó ná citráḥ svadhítīvān pavyā́ ráthasya jaṅghananta bhū́ma ||
അവർ അരുണവും പിശംഗവും (ചുവപ്പും തവിട്ടും) ആയ ബലങ്ങളോടെ, രഥത്തിന്റെ പാച്ചിലിൽ അതിവേഗ അശ്വങ്ങളോടെ, ശുഭ ലക്ഷ്യത്തിലേക്ക് പോകുന്നു. പ്രകാശമുള്ള ആഭരണത്തെപ്പോലെ ചിത്രവൈഭവമുള്ളവർ; സ്വധിതി (കോടാലി) ധരിച്ചവനെപ്പോലെ ഛേദകശക്തിയുള്ളവർ—രഥത്തിന്റെ പവ്യാ (ചക്രത്തിന്റെ പട്ടികൾ/ഫെല്ലികൾ) ഭൂമിയെ അടിച്ചു, എതിർക്കുന്നതിനെ അമർത്തിത്താഴ്ത്തുന്നു.
