ऊर्ध्वं नुनुद्रेऽवतं त ओजसा दादृहाणं चिद्बिभिदुर्वि पर्वतम् । धमन्तो वाणं मरुतः सुदानवो मदे सोमस्य रण्यानि चक्रिरे ॥
ūrdhváṃ nunudre ’vatáṃ te ójasā dādṛhāṇáṃ cid bibhidur ví párvatam | dhámanto vāṇáṃ marútaḥ sudā́navo máde sómasya raṇyā́ni cakrire ||
തങ്ങളുടെ ഓജസ്സാൽ അവർ താഴേക്ക് അമർത്തുന്ന ശക്തിയെ മേലോട്ടു തള്ളിക്കളഞ്ഞു; ദൃഢമായി നിലകൊണ്ട പർവ്വതത്തെയും പിളർത്തി. ഉദാരന്മാരായ മരുതർ തങ്ങളുടെ നാദം ഊതിക്കൊണ്ട്, സോമമദത്തിൽ, രണ്യമായ ആനന്ദങ്ങളും യുദ്ധോല്ലാസങ്ങളും—ധർമ്മ്യസംഘർഷത്തിൽ ഹർഷിക്കുന്ന ഊർജങ്ങളും—രൂപപ്പെടുത്തി.
