अर्चद्वृषा वृषभिः स्वेदुहव्यैर्मृगो नाश्नो अति यज्जुगुर्यात् । प्र मन्दयुर्मनां गूर्त होता भरते मर्यो मिथुना यजत्रः ॥
árcad vṛ́ṣā vṛ́ṣabhíḥ svéd u-havyair mṛgó nā́śno áti yáj juguryā́t | prá mandayúr manā́ṁ gū́rta hótā bhárate máryo mithunā́ yájatraḥ ||
വൃഷാ (ബലവാൻ വൃഷഭൻ)നെ വൃഷഭികൾ—ബലവാന്മാർ—സ്തുതിയാൽ അർച്ചിക്കുന്നു; അവരുടെ ഹവ്യം സ്വയം ആനന്ദമായവരാൽ. അവനെ ഉണർത്തേണ്ട സമയമാകുമ്പോൾ, മൃഗംപോലെ അവൻ ഭക്ഷകനെപ്പോലും അതിക്രമിച്ച് മുന്നോട്ട് കടക്കുന്നു. പ്രചോദിതനും ഉത്സുകനും ആയ ഹോതൃ മനസ്സിലെ ചിന്തയെ മുന്നോട്ട് വഹിക്കുന്നു; യജ്യത്രനായ യുവ യജമാനൻ മിഥുനാ (ജോഡി) അർപ്പണങ്ങൾ കൊണ്ടുവരുന്നു.
