एवं स कृपणं तत्र पर्यदेवयतासकृत्।ततोऽस्मै कर्तुमुदकं प्रवृत्तस्सहभार्यया।।।।
evaṃ sa kṛpaṇaṃ tatra paryadevayatāsakṛt | tato ’smai kartum udakaṃ pravṛttaḥ saha bhāryayā ||
ഇങ്ങനെ അവൻ അവിടെ വീണ്ടും വീണ്ടും കരുണയായി വിലപിച്ചു. പിന്നെ ഭാര്യയോടുകൂടെ മകന്റെ നിമിത്തം ഉദകക്രിയ—പിതൃതർപ്പണം—ആരംഭിച്ചു.
