ग्रामान् विकृष्टसीमान्तान् पुष्पितानि वनानि च।पश्यन्नतिययौ शीघ्रं शनैरिव हयोत्तमैः।।।।शृण्वन् वचो मनुष्याणां ग्रामसंवासवासिनाम्।
grāmān vikṛṣṭa-sīmāntān puṣpitāni vanāni ca | paśyann atiyayau śīghraṁ śanair iva hayottamaiḥ || śṛṇvan vaco manuṣyāṇāṁ grāma-saṁvāsa-vāsinām |
പുതുതായി ഉഴുത അതിരുകളുള്ള ഗ്രാമങ്ങളും പുഷ്പിതമായ വനങ്ങളും കണ്ടുകൊണ്ട്, ഗ്രാമവാസികളുടെ വാക്കുകൾ കേട്ടുകൊണ്ട്, ഉത്തമകുതിരകളിൽ വേഗത്തിൽ സഞ്ചരിച്ചു—എന്നാലും അവനു അത് മന്ദഗതിയെന്നപോലെ തോന്നി.
