Cultivating apramāda—daily vigilance over speech, action, and intention; protecting one’s vows from ‘vighnas’.
‘Apramāda’ is a classic spiritual injunction; vigilance here is political, yet parallels inner watchfulness against mental vighnas.
Apramāda as a virtue resonates with Upaniṣadic/Smṛti emphasis on wakeful awareness (later echoed strongly in ‘apramādo amṛtatvam’ tradition).
Vālmīki Rāmāyaṇa 2.4.25 (political timing: Bharata absent); Mahābhārata (Udyoga/Śānti themes): counsel that great enterprises attract obstacles and require protection (general parallel)
Vighneśa concept is later; here ‘vighna’ is Itihāsa usage of impediments to rites and polity
Ayodhyākāṇḍa: ensuing palace intrigue and obstruction via Kaikeyī/Mantharā (2.7–2.12)
