Praise of Rama’s Virtues and the Decision on the Heir-Apparent
एषा ह्यस्य परा प्रीतिर्हृदि संपरिवर्तते।।।।कदा नाम सुतं द्रक्ष्याम्यभिषिक्तमहं प्रियम्।
eṣā hy asya parā prītir hṛdi saṃparivartate | kadā nāma sutaṃ drakṣyāmy abhiṣiktam ahaṃ priyam ||
അവനോടുള്ള പരമസ്നേഹം രാജാവിന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തിൽ വീണ്ടും വീണ്ടും തിരിഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു: “എപ്പോൾ ഞാൻ എന്റെ പ്രിയപുത്രനെ അഭിഷിക്തനായതായി കാണും?”
(He said to himself) 'his (Rama's) only desire is to promote the prosperity of this world. He is one who shows compassion to all beings and is like the rain-god dearer than me to the people of the world'.
