वि॒द्म ते॑ स्वप्न ज॒नित्रं॑ देवजामी॒नां पु॒त्रोऽसि य॒मस्य॒ कर॑णः । अन्त॑कोऽसि मृ॒त्युर॑सि। तं त्वा॑ स्वप्न॒ तथा॒ सं वि॑द्म॒ स नः॑ स्वप्न दु॒ष्वप्न्या॑त् पाहि

IAST Transliteration

vidmá té svápna janítraṃ devajā́mīnām putró ’si yamásya káraṇaḥ | ántako ’si mṛtyúr ási | táṃ tvā svápna táthā sáṃ vidmá sá no svápna duḥsvápnyā́t pāhi

English Translation (Griffith/Whitney)

We know thy birth, O Dream: thou art the son of the divine kindred, the instrument of Yama. Thou art the Ender; thou art Death. Thus do we fully know thee, O Dream: do thou protect us from evil dreaming.

Translation

ഹേ സ്വപ്നമേ! നിന്റെ ജനനം ഞങ്ങൾ അറിയുന്നു: നീ ദേവജാമീനരുടെ പുത്രൻ, യമന്റെ കരണം (ഉപകരണം/സാധനം). നീ അന്തകൻ; നീ മരണമാണ്. ഇങ്ങനെ, ഹേ സ്വപ്നമേ, ഞങ്ങൾ നിന്നെ പൂർണ്ണമായി അറിയുന്നു; ഹേ സ്വപ്നമേ, ദുഃസ്വപ്നത്തിൽ നിന്ന് ഞങ്ങളെ കാത്തുകൊൾക.
