AV 6.34 ഒരു സംക്ഷിപ്ത അഗ്നി-രക്ഷാമന്ത്രമാണ്. “പ്രകാശമുള്ള, തീക്ഷ്ണജ്വാലയുള്ള” അഗ്നിയെ ആവർത്തിച്ച് പ്രാർത്ഥിച്ച്, ജപിക്കുന്നവനെ വൈരവും തടസ്സവും കടന്ന് മറുകരയിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുപോകണമെന്നു അപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നു. അഗ്നിയെ രക്ഷോഹ (രാക്ഷസ-നാശകൻ) എന്നും, എല്ലാം കാണുന്ന കാവൽക്കാരനെന്നും സ്തുതിക്കുന്നു; “രജസ്സിന് അപ്പുറം” എന്ന അതീതജന്മം അവനെ ദൃശ്യശത്രുക്കളെയും മറഞ്ഞ ദുഷ്ടാഭിപ്രായങ്ങളെയും അതിജീവിച്ച് വഴിനടത്താൻ പ്രത്യേകമായി ശേഷിയുള്ളവനാക്കുന്നു.

ഈ രജസ്സിന്റെ അപ്പുറത്തുള്ള അറ്റത്തിനപ്പുറം ജനിച്ച പ്രകാശമുള്ള അഗ്നി—അവൻ ഞങ്ങളെ വൈരികളുടെ അപ്പുറം സുരക്ഷിതമായി കടത്തട്ടെ.
For protection: to overcome hostility, fear of malign influence, and obstacles—especially when starting a journey, entering a risky situation, or seeking a guarded boundary around oneself or home.
It is the central petition: ‘May he carry us across, beyond the haters.’ Repetition functions like a protective refrain, continually re-establishing the desired safe passage.
Traditionally it is paired with fire and ghee, but a minimal steady flame (lamp) with mindful recitation can preserve the hymn’s core intent: invoking Agni’s light as purifier, witness, and protector.
