Sukta 30

Rishi: Atharvanic tradition (often attributed to an Atharvan/Angiras seer in anukramaṇī lists)

Devata: Saṃmanasya (personified Concord) / implicit social deities of harmony

Chandas: Anuṣṭubh

Frequently Asked Questions

It is used to reconcile people—family members, a council, or a community—by establishing shared intention, shared feeling, and freedom from hatred.

The ‘deity’ is a functional power: Saṃmanasya/Saṃjñāna—personified concord and mutual understanding—supported by the gods as the model of non-division.

Not necessarily. The hymn works primarily through mantra as brahman ‘installed’ in the house; optional symbols (like cow–calf affection) can reinforce the intention of non-harm and warmth.
