Sukta 23
यासां॒ द्यौः पि॒ता पृ॑थि॒वी मा॒ता स॑मु॒द्रो मूलं॑ वी॒रुधां॑ ब॒भूव॑ । तास्त्वा॑ पुत्र॒विद्या॑य॒ दैवीः॒ प्राव॒न्त्वोष॑धयः
yā́sāṃ dyáuḥ pitā pṛthivī́ mātā samudró mū́laṃ vīrudhā́ṃ babhū́va | tā́s tvā putra-vidyā́ya daivī́ḥ prá avantv óṣadhayaḥ
Whose Father is the Sky, whose Mother is the Earth, whose root the Ocean hath become—the Plants: may those divine Herbs advance to aid thee for the winning of a son.
ആകാശം (ദ്യൗ) പിതാവും ഭൂമി (പൃഥിവീ) മാതാവും, സമുദ്രം തന്നെ മൂലമായിത്തീർന്നിരിക്കുന്ന—അത്തരം വീരുധ് (ഔഷധസസ്യങ്ങൾ): ആ ദൈവീ ഔഷധികൾ പുത്രവിദ്യാ (പുത്രപ്രാപ്തി)ക്കായി നിന്നെ മുന്നോട്ട് നയിച്ച് കാത്തു സഹായിക്കട്ടെ.
