केने॒यं भूमि॒र्विहि॑ता॒ केन॒ द्यौरुत्त॑रा हि॒ता। केने॒दमू॒र्ध्वं ति॒र्यक् चा॒न्तरि॑क्षं॒ व्यचो॑ हि॒तम्
kéné́yaṃ bhū́mir vihitā́ kéna dyáur úttarā hitā́ | kéné́dam ū́rdhvaṃ tiryák cā́ntárikṣaṃ vyáco hitám
By what was this Earth set forth in order? by what was Heaven, the higher, firmly placed? By what was this mid-air disposed—upward and athwart, spread wide in its expanse?
ഏതിനാൽ ഈ ഭൂമി ക്രമമായി വിന്യസിക്കപ്പെട്ടു? ഏതിനാൽ ഉയർന്ന ദ്യൗഃ (സ്വർഗ്ഗം/ആകാശം) ദൃഢമായി സ്ഥാപിക്കപ്പെട്ടു? ഏതിനാൽ ഈ അന്തരിക്ഷം—ഊർദ്ധ്വവും തിര്യകുമായ്, സർവ്വത്ര വ്യാപകമായി വിസ്തൃതമായി—സ്ഥാപിക്കപ്പെട്ടു?
