bahuṣu pratyāsannaṃ dhārmikaṃ bharmasamarthaṃ kaniṣṭham abhāryaṃ vā

Translation

ഒരাধিক (യോഗ്യബന്ധുക്കൾ) ഉണ്ടെങ്കിൽ, ഏറ്റവും അടുത്തവൻ, ധർമ്മനിഷ്ഠൻ, കുടുംബം പോഷിപ്പിക്കാൻ കഴിവുള്ളവൻ, (സന്ദർഭാനുസാരം) ഇളയവൻ, കൂടാതെ/അല്ലെങ്കിൽ ഭാര്യയില്ലാത്തവൻ—ഇവനാണ് മുൻഗണന.
