The immortal carrier (Vahni) presses forward and sees the Seven; the impelling power satisfies the goddesses.
Soma in its purifying movement takes on Agni-like character as vahni—carrier/leader of the inner offering. This immortal force advances (abhi) and ‘beholds the Seven’: the seven divine powers/streams (sapta) that uphold the integral manifestation. The driving energy (kriviḥ—an impelling, piercing force) gladdens and fills the devīḥ, the goddess-powers within—illumined faculties such as inspiration, revelation, intuition, discrimination, etc.—by giving them Soma’s delight. Thus purification culminates in a harmonized, satisfied inner pantheon.
When the soul’s offering is carried by an immortal will and nourished by purified delight, the whole system of inner powers becomes coordinated, satisfied, and capable of higher seeing.
Soma-ritual, Seven powers, Illumined vision, Divine delight/satiety
The seer fuses Soma and Agni symbolism: delight becomes a carrier-will, indicating an advanced stage where Ananda itself conducts the yoga and coordinates the powers.
Purified Soma becomes the effective force that carries offerings to the gods and distributes delight to the divine powers.
Ananda as executive will: delight that not only intoxicates but ‘carries’ and organizes the sacrifice, opening vision of the sevenfold order.
Soma purification; invocation of Soma’s energizing distribution to the devatās.
abhi | vahniḥ | amartyaḥ | sapta | paśyati | vāvahiḥ | kriviḥ | devīḥ | atarpayat
Propulsive and energetic; suited to ‘pressing forward’ and ‘beholding’.
Builds momentum and uplift; supports a meditative ‘advance’ into wider vision.
Soma pressing/purification: imagery of pressing, seeing the Seven, satisfying divine powers—typical of pavamāna verses recited with the flow through the filter.
During the flow of Soma through the filter and its offering to multiple deities.
Recited to empower the rite’s ‘carrying’ and to gladden the divine recipients.
Use when needing inner coordination—before meditation or creative work—to ‘satisfy the goddesses’ (faculties) and stabilize a sevenfold balance.
vahni from √vah ‘to carry, convey, drive’ (PIE *weǵh- ‘to convey’); amartya = a- + martya (mortal) from √mṛ ‘die’ (PIE *mer-). paśyati from √paś ‘see’ (PIE *speḱ- ‘to observe’ possible semantic alignment). atarpayat from √tṛp ‘be satisfied’ (PIE *trep- ‘to satisfy/comfort’ is debated; Indo-Iranian has clear √tṛp). krivi is lexically difficult; in Soma context it can denote a functional implement/agent of pressing or a personified force of compression/straining; kept semantically conservative.
Sapta (sevenfold powers of Truth), Vision (paśyati) as illumination, Ananda (tṛp: satisfaction/delight as spiritual fullness)
Seeing the Seven implies entry into the ordered architecture of ṛta.
Beholding (paśyati) indicates truth-seeing rather than inferential thought.
Distribution of delight to powers as a sustaining act of manifestation—creation maintained by nourishment of shaktis.
Integral yoga reading: Ananda becomes dynamic will and harmonizer of faculties.
Fire = will; seeing = illumination; seven streams = complete energetic-psychic system brought into harmony by delight.
Let delight become the carrier of aspiration; contemplate the seven powers within and invite their harmonious satisfaction.
Anāhata (harmonization of powers by joy) with support from Ājñā (seeing the Seven).
Kapalabhati (gentle, brief) to awaken ‘carrier’ force, followed by slow breathing while chanting to distribute calm delight.
Dynamic uplift into ordered wideness; coordinated inner energies.
Chant once with vigor, then sit and ‘scan’ seven inner centers/qualities, offering each a drop of calm joy until all feel ‘satisfied’ and quiet.
Not specified.
Maintain crispness on vahníḥ amártyaḥ; give a slight lift on sápta páśyati; keep devī́ḥ and atárpayat clear and open.
(vahniḥ): ‘hni’ cluster—don’t insert extra vowel, (amartyaḥ): clear ‘ty’, (paśyati): retroflex ś, (vāvahiḥ): long ā; light ‘v’, (devīḥ): long ī
Bright, forward, slightly stronger attack on consonants to convey ‘carrier’ force.
