O dear child, how can good-natured Sita who is always engaged in performing auspicious deeds, especially towards ascetics be associated with violation of duty?
Auspicious character (kalyāṇa-sattva) and consistent reverence to holy persons make accusations of lapse implausible; judge by sustained conduct, not suspicion.
Practice of charitable interpretation, guarding others’ reputation, and honoring tapasvins; cultivating sattvic speech.
Sattva-guṇa expressed as kalyāṇa-vṛtti; purity of conduct (ācāra) as outer sign of inner śuddhi.
Respect to the wise/ascetics as a prerequisite for knowledge and peace (guru/vidvat-sevā motif).
Vālmīki Rāmāyaṇa, Araṇyakāṇḍa: Sītā’s consistent portrayal as modest, dhārmic, and reverent to sages; Rāmacaritamānasa, Araṇya-kāṇḍa: Sītā’s śīla and devotion highlighted in forest episodes
Smṛti injunctions on honoring ascetics/guests (atithi, tapasvin) as dharma
Ayodhyākāṇḍa: Sītā’s insistence on accompanying Rāma and her dhārmic resolve
