Ce bref hymne à Agni est un contre‑charme atharvanique condensé qui renvoie l’intention hostile à son émetteur en mobilisant l’arciṣ (flamme), le śocis (chaleur brûlante) et le tejas (splendeur) d’Agni. Ô Agni, par ce haras qui est tien — ce coup brûlant, ta chaleur — frappe en retour celui qui nous hait, celui que nous haïssons nous-mêmes.

अग्ने॒ यत् ते॒ऽर्चिस्तेन॒ तं प्रत्य॑र्च॒ यो॒३स्मान् द्वेष्टि॒ यं व॒यं द्वि॒ष्मः
Ô Agni, par cette flamme qui est tienne, flamboie en retour sur lui — sur celui qui nous hait, celui que nous haïssons.
