Sukta 2.2
उभयासो जातवेदः स्याम ते स्तोतारो अग्ने सूरयश्च शर्मणि । वस्वो रायः पुरुश्चन्द्रस्य भूयसः प्रजावतः स्वपत्यस्य शग्धि नः ॥
ubháyāso jātavedo syāma te stotā́ro agne sū́rayāś ca śármaṇi | vásvo rāyáḥ puru-candrasyá bhū́yasaḥ prajā́vataḥ su-ápatyasya śágdhi naḥ ||
O Jātavedas, mögen wir deine zweifachen Gefährten werden — deine Sänger, o Agni, und deine lichtvollen Rishis — geborgen in deinem Frieden. Gewähre uns, o Herr der Vasus, einen größeren Anteil an der vielstrahlenden Fülle des Seins: Reichtum, der sich mehrt, reich an Nachkommenschaft und von edler Linie.
