قالت دهَرَني: يا إله، لقد سمعتُ هذا التعليم الخارج من فمك—سمعته مراراً كثيرة؛ ومع ذلك فلا تتحقق لي القناعة.
Pṛthivī (Dharaṇī)
Curious, intellectually unsated; reverent yet pressing for deeper instruction
Despite repeated hearing, why is full satisfaction not reached—implying a request for deeper/secret clarification of the teaching.
Repeated hearing (śravaṇa) is valuable, yet true ‘tṛpti’ arises from grasping the inner rationale/rahasya and proper application.
Do not stop at rote reception; ask for clarifying principles and apply them correctly in ritual and ethics.
Earth addresses the deity directly, emphasizing teachings ‘from your mouth’; interaction is intimate teacher–listener dialogue.
Immediate continuation: request for rahasya about madhuparka, puṇya, devatā, and dāna recipients
It exemplifies the Purāṇic dialogue method where Earth (Dharaṇī) functions as an inquisitive interlocutor, enabling structured presentation of ritual-ethical knowledge.
No geographic location is identified; the speaker is Earth personified.
Sustained inquiry is presented as legitimate and valuable; repeated hearing does not replace precise clarification.
