न शीतं च न चोष्णे च लब्धालब्धं विचिन्तयेत् ॥ न तिक्तेनास्ति कटुना मधुराम्लैर्न लावणैः ॥

لا ينبغي أن ينشغل المرء بالبرد أو الحرّ، ولا بما ناله أو لم ينله. ولا ينبغي أن يُساق بتفضيلٍ للمرّ أو الحارّ أو الحلو أو الحامض أو المالح.
