Sukta 4.18
अयं पन्था अनुवित्तः पुराणो यतो देवा उदजायन्त विश्वे । अतश्चिदा जनिषीष्ट प्रवृद्धो मा मातरममुया पत्तवे कः ॥
ayáṃ pánthā ánu-vittaḥ purāṇó yáto devā́ ud ájāyanta víśve | atáś cid ā́ janiṣīṣṭa prá-vṛddho mā́ mātáram amuyā́ páttave káḥ ||
هذا هو السبيلُ العتيقُ الذي أُعيدَ العثورُ عليه، ومنه وُلِدَتِ الآلهةُ جميعًا صاعدةً إلى العُلا. ومن هنا أيضًا، وقد اشتدَدْتَ بقوّتِكَ، تريدُ أن تخرجَ مولودًا؛ فلا تذهبْ، أيّها الطفلُ، بدافعِ ذلك لتُهلكَ أمَّكَ—فمَن ذا الذي يفعلُ ذلك حقًّا؟
