Sukta 16
sám adhvarā́ya uṣáso namanta dadhikrā́veva śúcaye padā́ya | arvācīnáṃ vasuvídaṃ bhágaṃ me ráthamivā́śvā vājína ā́ vahantu
For the rite let the Dawns bow down together, as Dadhikrāvan to the shining track. Hitherward let the prize-winning steeds, as with a chariot, bring me Bhaga, the wealth-finder, even Fortune’s share.
Rishi: Traditionally Atharvanic seer(s) associated with Uṣas/Bhaga prosperity hymns (Saunaka anukramaṇī attribution varies by hymn-unit).
Devata: Uṣas (Dawns), Bhaga (Fortune/Distributor), with Dadhikrāvan as simile-power
Chandas: Jagatī-like cadence (mixed; Atharvanic adaptation of RV-style dawn diction)
Primary: adbhuta
Secondary: shanta
