आ मन्द्रस्य सनिष्यन्तो वरेण्यं वृणीमहे अह्रयं वाजमृग्मियम् । रातिं भृगूणामुशिजं कविक्रतुमग्निं राजन्तं दिव्येन शोचिषा ॥
Transliteration
ā mandrásya saniṣyántaḥ váreṇyaṃ vṛṇīmahe áhrayaṃ vā́jam ṛgmíyam | rātíṃ bhṛgūṇām uśíjaṃ kaví-kratum agníṃ rājántaṃ divyéna śocíṣā ||
Translation
为求得欢悦之利，我们拣选那最可拣选者——阿耆尼（Agni），无误者，颂词所歌咏的力之丰盈；婆利古（Bhṛgu）之赐，热切的火焰，诗圣之意志（kavi-kratu），以天界的光辉灿然照耀。
