क्रत्वा दक्षस्य तरुषो विधर्मणि देवासो अग्निं जनयन्त चित्तिभिः । रुरुचानं भानुना ज्योतिषा महामत्यं न वाजं सनिष्यन्नुप ब्रुवे ॥
Transliteration
kratvā́ dákṣasya tárūṣo vídharmaṇi devā́so agníṁ janayanta cítti-bhiḥ | rurucānám bhānúnā jyótiṣā mahā́m atyáṁ ná vā́jaṁ saniṣyán úpa bruve ||
Translation
以克拉图（kratu，觉意之志）与达克沙（dakṣa，有效之能的巧智），在正当运行之秩序（vi-dharmaṇi）中，诸天以光明的觉知（citti）使阿耆尼（Agni）诞生。我祈唤那以光束与光辉灿然照耀者——伟大如广宇中的竞驰骏马——为求得vāja（胜势、丰饶之力）而向他陈词。
