Rishi: Atharvanic/Āṅgirasa milieu (enemy-destruction hymns frequently Angiras-like; specific r̥ṣi not provided here)
Devata: Aśvattha (tree-power) as the operative agent; implicit Indraic violence in the background
Chandas: Anuṣṭubh (probable)
Mantra 1
Mantra 2
Mantra 3
Mantra 4
Mantra 5
Mantra 6
Mantra 7
Mantra 8
To counter active enemies by turning the Aśvattha tree’s power into a ritual force that strikes, binds, and expels those who hate the practitioner and are hated in return.
It is not just symbolic: the branch functions as the physical implement that carries the mantra’s intent—used to thrust away foes and to embody coercive vanaspati power.
Both. Some verses push enemies outward (expulsion), while others explicitly ask Nirṛti and Mṛtyu to bind them with unloosenable nooses, creating restraint and ruin.
