Outer meaning

Vāyu’s wide-spreading ‘milk-stream’ comes to the giver; luminous and far-ranging, it moves for Soma-drinking.

Inner meaning

The ‘dhenā’ is not merely milk but a streaming nourishment of prāṇa-delight: a flow of life-energy that feeds the inner sacrifice. ‘Prapṛñcatī’ suggests a spreading, pervading current—Vāyu’s force distributing vitality through the being. It comes to the dāśuṣe, the one who gives/offers (self-offering, surrender of ego-motions). ‘Urūcī’ indicates wide light: prāṇa becomes luminous and capable of receiving Soma (bliss) without turbulence. Soma-drinking is the assimilation of ānanda into the nervous-vital system, stabilizing joy and widening consciousness.

Universal truth

When we offer ourselves sincerely, life-energy becomes a nourishing, luminous flow; then bliss can be received safely and made expansive in life.

Themes

Soma-ritual, Invocation, Inner nourishment, Expansion of consciousness, Life-force purification
