Varāha (default dialogue framework; speaker not explicit in excerpt)
It reflects a common Purāṇic narrative technique: a courtly or didactic dialogue where ritual authority is clarified through questioning, preserving norms of worship and theological hierarchy in a descriptive (not prescriptive) literary form.
No specific geographic site is named in this verse; the deictic term “atra” (“here”) indicates a location established in the surrounding passage.
The verse foregrounds epistemic humility and procedural ethics: proper action (here, worship) should be undertaken after inquiry and clarification from an authoritative source within the narrative.
