Varāha (default attribution within the Varāha–Pṛthivī dialogue framework; addressee: a king, ‘mahārāja’)
It reflects Purāṇic-era ethical discourse that aligns with broader Dharma literature, using established categories of transgression (e.g., brahmahatyā) to frame social and sexual conduct norms.
No geographic location is named in this verse; the content is primarily normative/ethical rather than topographic.
The verse advises avoiding involvement with another man’s wife, presenting such conduct as a serious moral fault and associating it with a major category of sin.
