Outer meaning

The drinkers, filled with Vivasvat’s radiance, bring forth Dawn’s share of Bhaga (felicity); the luminous ones spread the subtle thread.

Inner meaning

The inner powers that “drink” the solar consciousness (vivasvat) generate in the seeker the dawning portion of delight (bhaga) and extend the fine, subtle channel (aṇva-tantu) by which the light can move through the being—an increasing continuity of illumination in mind, life, and body.

Universal truth

When consciousness is nourished by truth-light, delight is born naturally, and a subtle inner pathway forms that makes awakening stable and repeatable rather than episodic.

Themes

Dawn and solar illumination, Distribution of felicity, Subtle channels of light

Other hymns
Rig Veda 9.10.1-11 (contextual sequence within the same Pavāmāna hymn)

Significance

The anonymity here fits the Pavāmāna stream: the ‘seer’ is often the collective vision of the Soma-pressers—an impersonal yogic process where purification itself becomes the revealer.

Devata
Soma Pavamāna (with Vivasvat–Uṣas–Bhaga overtones)
Epithets
Pavamāna (self-purifying), Soma (delight-essence), Sūra (luminous force, implied)
Related deities
Sūrya/Vivasvat, Uṣas, Bhaga, Agni (as inner priest, implied in Soma-yajña)

Cosmic role

Purifies and uplifts the worlds by flowing as the clarified essence; links solar truth (Vivasvat) with dawn-illumination (Uṣas) and distributive delight (Bhaga).

Inner power

Ananda that becomes luminous and organizing; it forms the subtle ‘thread’ of right inner movement and continuity of awakening.

Where it is used

Soma pressing and purification (Pavāmāna chants during Soma-yajña)
