अधा न्वस्य संदृशं जगन्वानग्नेरनीकं वरुणस्य मंसि । स्वर्यदश्मन्नधिपा उ अन्धोऽभि मा वपुर्दृशये निनीयात् ॥

adhā́ nv asya saṃdṛ́śaṃ jaganvān agnér anī́kaṃ váruṇasya maṃsi | svàr yád áśmann adhipā́ u ándho ’bhí mā vápur dṛśáye ninīyāt ||

แล้วข้าพเจ้าได้ไปเพื่อเพ่งดูนิมิตของท่าน—พระพักตร์ของอัคนี (Agni) อันสถิตอยู่ในความดำริของวรุณะ (Varuṇa). เมื่อสุริยะถูกตั้งไว้เหนือศิลา ขอความมืดอันบอดอย่าฉุดรูปของข้าพเจ้าให้พ้นจากการเห็น; ขอความเป็นอยู่ของข้าพเจ้าจงหันสู่แสงสว่างเสมอ.
