Sukta 7.86
पृच्छे तदेनो वरुण दिदृक्षूपो एमि चिकितुषो विपृच्छम् । समानमिन्मे कवयश्चिदाहुरयं ह तुभ्यं वरुणो हृणीते ॥
pṛ́cche tád éno váruṇa didṛ́kṣū́po émi cikítuṣo ví-pṛccham | samānám ín me kaváyaś cid āhur ayáṃ ha túbhyaṃ váruṇo hṛṇīte ||
ข้าพเจ้าถามถึงความผิดนั้น โอ วรุณะ เพื่อจะได้เห็นให้ชัด; ข้าพเจ้าเข้าไปใกล้เพื่อไต่ถามผู้รู้ ให้ช่วยพิจารณา. แม้เหล่าฤษีกล่าวแก่ข้าพเจ้าเหมือนกันว่า: “แท้จริงวรุณะผู้นี้ทรงกริ้วต่อท่านแล้ว”
