इन्द्रं परेऽवरे मध्यमास इन्द्रं यान्तोऽवसितास इन्द्रम् । इन्द्रं क्षियन्त उत युध्यमाना इन्द्रं नरो वाजयन्तो हवन्ते ॥
índraṃ páre ’váre madhyamā́sa índraṃ yā́nto ’va-sitāsa índram | índraṃ kṣiyánta utá yúdhyamānā índraṃ náro vājayánto havante ||
ทั้งผู้ไกลและผู้ใกล้ ทั้งผู้กลาง ต่างเรียกอินทรา; ทั้งผู้เดินทางและผู้พำนัก ต่างเรียกอินทรา. ทั้งผู้ตั้งถิ่นและผู้รบ ต่างเรียกอินทรา; มนุษย์ผู้แสวงหาความอุดมแห่งพลัง (vāja) ต่างเชิญอินทรา.
