Sukta 10.51
कुर्मस्त आयुरजरं यदग्ने यथा युक्तो जातवेदो न रिष्याः । अथा वहासि सुमनस्यमानो भागं देवेभ्यो हविषः सुजात ॥
kúrmás ta ā́yur ajáraṃ yád agne yáthā yuktó jātavedo ná riṣyā́ḥ | áthā vahāsi su-manasyámāno bhāgáṃ devébhyo havíṣaḥ sujāta ||
โอ อัคนี เราตั้งไว้เพื่อท่านซึ่งอายุอันไม่แก่ชรา เพื่อว่าเมื่อถูกเทียมอย่างถูกต้อง โอ ชาตเวทัส (Jātavedas) ท่านจะไม่ประสบอันตราย. แล้วท่านผู้มีใจเมตตา โอผู้เกิดดี จงนำส่วนแบ่งแห่งเครื่องบูชา (havis) ไปสู่ทวยเทพ—ให้การแลกเปลี่ยนอันชอบธรรมระหว่างมนุษย์กับเทพสำเร็จ.
