Sukta 1.84
क ईषते तुज्यते को बिभाय को मंसते सन्तमिन्द्रं को अन्ति । कस्तोकाय क इभायोत रायेऽधि ब्रवत्तन्वे को जनाय ॥
ká ī́ṣate tuj́yate kó bibhāya kó máṃsate sántam índraṃ kó ánti | kás tokā́ya kó íbhāyóta rāyé ’dhi bravat tanvé kó jánāya ||
ผู้ใดเล่าฝืนแรงพุ่งไปข้างหน้า ผู้ใดเล่าถูกเร่งเร้าให้เข้าปะทะ ผู้ใดเล่าหวาดหวั่น? ผู้ใดเล่าจะทรงไว้ในความคิดซึ่งอินทรา (Indra) อันแท้จริง ผู้สถิตใกล้? ผู้ใดกล่าวถึงพระองค์เพื่อดวงวิญญาณดุจเด็ก ผู้ใดเพื่อพลังอันแข็งกล้า และเพื่อความบริบูรณ์แห่งภาวะ—ผู้ใดเพื่อกายนี้ และผู้ใดเพื่อประชาราษฎร์ภายในเรา?
