Sukta 1.51
मन्दिष्ट यदुशने काव्ये सचाँ इन्द्रो वङ्कू वङ्कुतराधि तिष्ठति । उग्रो ययिं निरपः स्रोतसासृजद्वि शुष्णस्य दृंहिता ऐरयत्पुरः ॥
mandiṣṭa yad uśane kāvye sacā indro vaṅkū vaṅku-tarā adhi tiṣṭhati | ugro yayim nir apaḥ srotasā asṛjad vi śuṣṇasya dṛṃhitā airayat puraḥ ||
เมื่อพระองค์ทรงปีติยิ่ง และเสด็จร่วมกับอุศนา กาวยะ (Uśanā Kāvya) พระอินทระทรงยืนอยู่เหนือสันสูงอันคดเคี้ยว. ผู้เกรียงไกรนั้นทรงปลดปล่อยสายน้ำให้ไหลบ่าดุจกระแสธาร; ทรงทลายป้อมปราการอันแข็งกล้าของศุษณะ (Śuṣṇa) ให้แตกกระจาย และขับไล่ป้อมเมืองของมันให้ราบคาบ.
