अबोध्यग्निर्ज्म उदेति सूर्यो व्युषाश्चन्द्रा मह्यावो अर्चिषा । आयुक्षातामश्विना यातवे रथं प्रासावीद्देवः सविता जगत्पृथक् ॥
ábodhy agnír jmà úd eti sū́ryo ví uṣā́ś candrā́ mahyā́vo arcíṣā | ā́yukṣātām aśvínā yā́tave ráthaṃ prá-āsāvīd deváḥ savitā́ jágat pṛ́thak ||
อัคนีตื่นขึ้นในภพแห่งโลก; สุริยะผุดขึ้น; อุษาส (รุ่งอรุณ) แผ่กว้าง และผู้สว่าง (candrā) ส่องด้วยรัศมีอันไพศาล. อัศวินทั้งสองเทียมรถเพื่อการเดินทาง; เทพสวิตฤ (Savitṛ) ได้ปล่อยโลกอันเคลื่อนไหวออกไป ให้สรรพสิ่งดำเนินไปตามวิถีกว้างของตนแต่ละอย่าง.
