Sukta 1.147
उत वा यः सहस्य प्रविद्वान्मर्तो मर्तं मर्चयति द्वयेन । अतः पाहि स्तवमान स्तुवन्तमग्ने माकिर्नो दुरिताय धायीः ॥
utá vā yáḥ sahasya právidvān márto mártaṃ marcáyati dvayéna | atáḥ pāhi stavamāna stuvántam agne mā́kiḥ no duritā́ya dhāyīḥ ||
ยิ่งกว่านั้น หากผู้ใดอ้างว่ารู้และมีกำลัง ทั้งที่เป็นมนุษย์ผู้ต้องตาย กลับทำร้ายมนุษย์ผู้ต้องตายด้วยเล่ห์สองชั้น—ขอพระอัคนีทรงคุ้มครองเราจากสิ่งนั้น เมื่อเรากล่าวยืนยันและสรรเสริญอยู่เถิด ขออย่าให้ผู้ใดพาเราเข้าสู่หนทางแห่งเคราะห์ร้ายและความหลงผิดเลย
